Tumble Tower
The tower itself is made from 45 individual blocks of Sapele wood 20mm x 20mm x 60mm. The box is made birch plywood with an oak stain.
Each block will be engraved on each side so you have a potential for a maximum of 180 individual items.
So what could you put on the blocks?
One wedding set was for a couple who had travelled the world for a year prior to their wedding. Side one was a map of the world, side two was each country they had travelled to, side three was the word “Love” in the language of each country visited and side four was the wedding guests.
We have also produced the set for a 5 year wedding anniversary (wood)
Other ideas for each side:
- A letter or poem to Grandma or Grandad
- A list of words that describe the person / people the present is for
- A family tree
- A recipe
- Holiday Locations
- Favourite car
- An image (The image must be a line type drawing a scanned hand drawing is fine)
Ideally one of the sides will, in addition to the text on it, be numbered so that the sides can be read properly i.e. once the numbered side is arranged each block can then be rolled once so each side then reads correctly (you don’t need numbering if an image is used as that can become a jigsaw)

4mm font height – max 15 characters per line on a block (2 lines of 4mm font can be included on a block)
6mm font height – max 12 characters per line on a block
10mm font height – max 7 characters per line on a block
This block shows font sizes of 5mm and 10mm
If you would like an image on one side, a grid 2mm wide is deleted. This is to stop the laser 1mm from each edge (if this is not done, as the laser goes from one block to the next, it will leave a burn between the 2 blocks)
What we need
Ideally an excel spreadsheet with the first column numbered from 1 to 45. The next column is what you would like on side one for each block, next column side 2 etc
If you would like an image on one side a jpg is fine. If I believe the image will not work well I will get back to you.
I also need the message that you would like on the lid of the box
What you can expect from me
Whatever your ideas are just email them through. I will then identify if it there are any issues and will offer suggestions. Before the Blocks go for print I will supply screens showing what the panels will actually look like, including alternative fonts for your approval.
